There is nothing better in vaping than getting that new and clean atomizer, dripping some of your favorite juicy e-liquid and puffing away at that clean vapor. It’s just so sweet like it’s your first time.
After a short while we are brought back to reality from vapor heaven with the fact that your atomizer is just not working as well as it did when you first got it. Well, your atomizer builds residue from heating up your ecig juice and that’s when it gets to taste bad and starts not to vaporize well.
Doing a little searching on the web, watching some video’s on YouTube, you come across ecig hobbyists suggesting cleaning your electronic cigarette atomizers in various ways. You have the hobbyist that uses soda to soak and clean the atomizer, another uses hot water and then blowing through the small end of the atty. Last but not least, you have vapors using ultra sonic cleaners to clean their atomizers.
The untold truth about cleaning your atomizer is that it doesn’t really work. You may get any excess residue or liquid off of it however, your atomizer will never be the same as it was. We wouldn’t make such a bold statement if we didn’t have the supporting evidence.
Let’s start with the before picture. Here is a picture of a brand new standard 510 atomizer, under our high-tech microscope. Do you see how clean it is?
We decide to take this matter in our own hands and experiment cleaning an atomizer after 3 weeks use using the widely used methods. First, we soaked it in cola over night then rinsed and blew through it the next day with running high pressure water. After that, we dropped the atomizer in boiling hot water and let it chill to room temp. Last but not least, we “cleaned” using an ultra sonic cleaner.
Here is the picture of an atomizer after only 3 weeks of moderate use and after cleaning it using the three common methods mentioned above:
The built up around the coils are very surprising and not visible to the naked eye. Once you see the atomizer this close proceeding the so called cleaning process, it becomes very clear you can see no amount of cleaning with water, soda or even ultra sonic cleaning is going to take that gunk off.
In conclusion, don’t deny yourself the best vaping experience. Get and use a new atomizer every two to three weeks because you deserve it.
